He returned home with a Harley-Davidson - for himself ! Six months later we opened a store in Crawford Street, Queanbeyan. We sold all but new bikes for 12 months and rapidly outgrew our first store in Crawford Street, then moved to Gilmore Road Queanbeyan. We soon won the first of many awards in 1992, a trip to Seattle for the Harley-Davidson Dealer Meeting. Then in 1998 we were amongst four winning Australian Dealers who were rewarded with our trip to ride and attend the 95th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson celebrations in Milwaukee. In 1999 we won the Australian Harley-Davidson Dealer of the Year, which is awarded for efforts in business facets as well as a large proportion of customer feedback. There are three categories relating to the size of your dealership and we won our category again in 2002, (this program ceased after 2002) as well as the Motor Traders Association Country Motorcycle Dealer of the Year for 2002. January 2006 we were approached by Harley-Davidson Australia with an opportunity to move our business to the Central West area of NSW. We took up the challenge and will move forward with our skills and understanding of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the wonderful people that own and ride them. it's been a great experience living, working, and riding in the Central West and we love it. Harley-Davidson also rewarded us for our efforts with a trip to Austria in 2009 with the Harley-Davidson "Best of the Best" promotion, as well as Harley-Davidson Finance and insurance awarding us a trip to Noumea in April 2012. We've now outgrown our beginnings in Cameron Place Orange, and have moved to bigger premises. Our workshop is now double the size which enables us to maintain our level of service to our customers. Also we've taken on another brand, Suzuki. With its long history of Japanese technology and reliability we've found the second brand has enhanced our appeal to the public. It's a great place for mum and dad to check out the Harley's whilst arranging a fun bike for their youngsters, or a farm or quad bike. Also our staff levels has increased and we're very proud of our very friendly professional team. |
